February Kit at the Nook

Here's the latest kit at the Nook.
I have to admit....this one kind of scared me!
It's a bit (ok, a lot) out of my comfort zone....fancy.

But you know what....I love it.
I made it my own and it works for me ;)

I thought I would share with you today my process....when I get my DT boxes in the mail.....
I usually rip them open the second it's in my hands....which is usually in the car.
I can't wait to look at everything!

Once I get it home and have a minute I start sorting my papers.
I like to see which ones work well together, which combo's I like.
Then I'll start thinking about pictures.
Usually I'll have a few in mind and go looking for them.
Sometimes I just flip through the albums or computer files to see what I have.
Once I have a stack of photos I want to use then I start.  Putting pictures and papers together and usually one set will pull at me first and I'll get an idea and go with it.

I love working with the kits because I don't spend a lot of time searching for supplies....they are already together.  I will often add a little ribbon, or buttons to my pages, but mostly it's all from the kit and add ons.

I've got a box that I keep my current kit in, so it's always out on my desk until I feel like I've done everything I want with it.  Then it goes back in it's bag and stashed with the rest of my old kits.  I like to keep everything together for a while.  Eventually I'll remove all the alphas, and embellishments and sort them, but I always keep the papers together.

I'm the kind of person who tends to "know" what she has.  So I can easily remember what came in an old kit and pull things out of them from time to time if I want it.

Here are a few layouts I've finished.....I have several more in my mind so there will be more to share over the next few weeks.

This was just an old picture I found in Samantha's album....one Sunday before church.  Back in the day when I could match my girls dresses ;)  I really love having daughters and thank my Heavenly Father for them everyday!  I knew I wanted to use this rub on butterfly for this picture...keeping it sweet and simple.

This layout is for an inspiration class I'm teaching this month.  The rub on's inspired me to pull out this picture. I haven't scrapped too many maternity pictures of myself.

I loved how this one turned out!.  Love all the pretty details.  These are the first blessing pics. of Samantha that I've scrapped.  It's funny how I often avoid the pictures of special occasion's.

Well, that's all for now....thanks for looking ;)
Happy Tuesday!
