Watched Oprah for a few minutes today. Some hot guy was in a near fatal car accident and they were talking about how that experience has changed his life, blah blah blah.... One thing he said got me thinking. Said he lives each day as if it were his last. Not a new statement by any means but made me think "how does one really do that".
I know if I actually tried to live that way I wouldn't have wasted time cleaning my kitchen or vacuuming today. My children certainly wouldn't have gone to school and my husband wouldn't have gone to work. So how exactly does one live life like that?? Hmmmmmm......
It's kinda funny, I've been thinking about this all day. I certainly want my life to have meaning (granted I've birthed 4 children so that's a good one right there, right). I want to live as honestly as possible, I want the people I love to know that. So the only way I can think of living that way is to do my best each day to love my family and friends, to serve others, to continue improving myself, to have fun, and stay close to my HF. I mean, I can't just have fun all the time, chores need to get done, kids need to get beat (JK!), bills need to be paid, post need to be blogged!!! And quite frankly sometimes I'm just grumpy.
So what are your thoughts on living like it's your last day, how do we make that more than just a nice statement??

It made me think of the movie that Jason and I just saw called "Stranger than Fiction". I really liked it and so did Jason. It isn't exactly along the lines of what you are talking about but the main character is endearing and is (in a "strange" way) confronted with this question. You might like it.
Just do the best we can. I liked the way you put it. Just take it one day at a time.
I so miss watching Oprah. Haven't caught an episode in I don't know how long.
I think you said it perfectly....living the best life we know how. Trying to be patient and learning to give of ourselves to our families. Giving our time freely and expressing our love daily. Living with no regrets.
I think you need to stop watching Oprah! JK! I think a lot of time when people talk about living each day like it's our last it evokes a hidden fear that noone wants to say out loud. That they may not be READY. So, that is the key for me. Live the gospel to fullest of your ABILITY. Make righteous choices and love the peopel around you.
Fabulous new color.
