Why doesn't anyone blog much anymore???
and most of all...what the heck is so GREAT about facebook??????
We came to the conclusion that fb is lame and we want to see more blogging.
Now this lecture was as much for me as anyone else, I can't really hide the fact that I'm a big blog loser! Well, I'm here to say, I'm going to try harder. I mean, I want to be able to look back on this thing and see more than just birthdays and holidays. I want to see the daily events, my thoughts on things, you know.
I'll admit, sometimes blogging feels like a popularity contest. Does how many comments we get determine how cool we are???? Not really, but sometimes we can feel a bit dejected if no one responds to our posts. I know we ALL feel this way. We can't help it. But we shouldn't. At least not me, this is my journal, soda speak ;). Certainly, my children will know all there is to know about growing up in our home, for the most part. Can you imagine, if our parents had something like this. Nothing would be cooler than to have such a look into my childhood.
Anyway...off my little soap box. I am going to try harder to be a better blogger. For myself and my family, not for popularity. Though comments are much loved ;)
So on to my flashback Friday event. Us girls, challenged each other to a flashback post. Sadly, my topic is not what I planned for. I was gonna rock ya'lls world with an 80's hair picture. But my scanners not working, so I found some pictures from last year that I never posted.
Nathan had his first scout camp experience. And I couldn't have asked for a better experience for him. His dad was able to go with him and from what I hear they had some amazing things happen up there.
But for fun, Nathan got to scale the side of a mountain.
There's my little boy!!!!
p.s....i haven't seen anything from them yet.......hmmmmm????

I commit to be a better blogger. You're right, I do want my kids to be able to look back at it and remember fun everyday times and not just holidays.
amen sister!! i couldn't have said it better myself!! i do plan on sneaking mine in there still tonight. :)
Thank you! Where are all the bloggers? Forget stupid facebook. Blogs rule.
So funny! I just stopped Facebook yesterday. . .and then I read your post. How's that for being on the same wave length? I'm free from it! And, I just did a post. hugs.
facebook is purely entertainment, you can't keep it or look back on it with fondness nor can you express more than a silly thought or minute moment of something that happened. Blogging however is archived to revisit whenever you please and can be made into a book (which I still need to do)that your family can have forever! So I'm jumping on your bandwagon and I want to keep it simple and everyday as well. Sometimes I put off blogging because it's a big trip or a long post but sometimes less is more. I probably could have just posted considering how long this comment is......
I love facebook. What is so wrong with it? It helps me keep on touch with so many people. I love to blog too.
i have a like/hate relationship with facebook. as a network and business tool, it can be good. i do like that i can chat up old friends from time to time. however, i feel that it is taking away real life connections and interactions. it is also a horrible time sucker.
i love blogging. i used to do it every single day. it is my online journal. it is the happenings of my family. it is the expression of my creativity. it is an outlet for me. i just wish i had time to keep up. i used to get discouraged for lack of comments but remembering i blog for myself keeps me going. i wish more people still blogged.
keep blogging. i think it is wonderful thing.
guess it depends...I use Facebook to reconnect with friends...it isn't the family record. But it is sooooo easy to do which makes a difference. I hate the pain the ass putting photos into blogspot can be...think that's what holds me back. Yeah, agreed...it is like a competition. I have a lot of friends who say, "what's up with you Mormon ladies' blogs? everyone is a photographer, everyone has the best husband ever, everyone's kids are in piano lessons, and everyone's homes are perfect!(hmmm...clearly, I don't fit in :)
Thanks for the reminder that blogging is important. It is my journal. I've jumped back into blogging too! Facebook is a big time waster if it's not controlled. I asked my husband to change my password to facebook & not tell me-that really helps! I do like facebook but only on occasion. It was great seeing you btw at the Bunker recital!
