Real Life

This week has been HARD.
Crazy, busy, and I can't seem to focus on any one thing.
Haven't felt much like blogging.
My sister-in-law Angie is one of my dearest friends
and her baby sister died last week.
I've known her sister for 18 years, since she was 10.
And I can't seem to get over the fact
that Robin is gone.
I really wanted to be there for her funeral in Utah,
but I just couldn't do it.
This year has gotten too hard.
My heart aches for their family.
I feel so sad.
We continue to struggle each day
with Doug's injuries.
The far reaching ramifications of his accident.
The strain it has put on our home, his business,
our family is ever present. I wish I could do more for him.
I usually try to focus on our blessings (there have been many)
And I can usually keep a good attitude, but sometimes it's all a bit too much.

It makes me feel better to just put it out there. I don't know why. It's like saying it takes some of the pain away. Someday these trials will pass and we will look back on what we learned and say okay we needed that. Lessons are sometimes so hard to learn. We keep getting trials and I think something has got to give. I want to learn my lesson so we can move on. It is not happening. All I can say is hang in there and pray like you have never prayed before. ;)
And wish Doug a Happy Happy Birthday. Hope his days goes great and you too!!!!

I am glad that you put it out there. Hang in there. We learn from all our experiences even when we don't know why we have to go through them. Love ya Carol!

You're not a downer in the least. It would be strange if we were always happy all the time. I think it is really important to go inward and be honest with our feelings. I really appreciate honesty in life and am striving for this myself. It really strengthens. (And not that there is one way to go inward and be true to our feelings--we are all so different and that is really wonderful too.) You are really great and I'm glad we are in same fam . . . you too Steph and Pat!

I'm thinking of you!

I am so sorry. I am sad for you. Hang in there. As time goes by, eventually things seem to get better. I'll be thinking of you!
