Happy Halloween!

Come on, it's May, time to start planning for Halloween. Dude, don't ask me where this topic came from but here is my conversation with the kids before school this morning.

Nathan: I want to be Will Turner for Halloween.
Me: You were Will last year.
N: No I wasn't.
M: Yes, you were.
N: No, I was Jack Sparrow.
M: No, you were supposed to be Jack but you altered your costume and called yourself Will.
N: Well, this year I want to be Will for real!

Kristen: I want to look for a devil costume. Blake was a princess devil and she was really cute. I want to look for that. Or I could be a butterfly.

Samantha: I want to be Ariel.

Me: That sounds great!

So, in honor of Halloween here are some pictures of my Halloween book I am working on.

Happy Halloween everyone. Lets all be prepared.

Football anyone???

I don't know how he did it but somehow Nathan got Kristen to play football. They actually seemed to have a really great time. It ended with them playing tackle football. Kristen is a bit of a wimp to say the least and Nathan kept saying "just shake it off, just shake it off ok" She lasted for a few tackles and then couldn't take it anymore and came in boobing. I was proud of her though, she tried to be as tough as she could for as long as possible for her brother.

Like Mother Like Daughter

Did you ever love a show so much as a child that you wished the characters would become a part of your life? Well, I did. One of my favorite movies is The Sound of Music. I remember as a child dreaming that I would find the Von Trapp family walking over a hillside from their long trek and I would discover them and they would come and live with my family. Well Kristen has the same dreams apparently. She is still obsessed with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat. Last night she said "what if Joseph snuck into our back yard and was watching us through the windows (creepy!?) and then he would come in our house with us. That would be so awesome" Samantha said " I wonder if Joseph got his coat back. I wonder if he still has it." I nicely remind them that Joseph is dead! They are cracking me up with the Joseph obsession. For FHE I did the Joseph story. They were thrilled.

Here is Kristen doing her Egyptian move.

Mess for Mess

Ok Heather, I had to match you mess for mess. This is what my girls can do in the span of 24 hours! Their room was spotless on Saturday. By Sunday we had this. They too come up with big plans including lots of clothes changing, desks and props. This corner with the lamp, on the floor, is supposed to have a night table with books. No matter what laws I lay down for the book shelf, Kristen will ultimately clutter the crap out of it with all her little treasures. She also has boxes of little treasures in her closet. She is a rat pack to the max! Nathan of course did participate in this mess, but mostly the girls accomplish this all on there own. I don't know how Samantha sleeps at night because her bed is typically piled high with stuff. It makes me crazy!!!! But I seem to have no control over any of it.
P.S. I think I win.

Joseph...

Took the girls to see the play Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat. A friend of mine is doing the music for it so our little girls have done nothing but talk, sing and watch the play on video. Just watching the looks on their faces was priceless! They enjoyed it to say the least. It was very good. We went with some other friends and had a nice mother daughter date. Samantha was afraid to be in the picture but here is Kristen and her friend Blake with Joseph and the Narrator, who happen to be Blakes aunt and uncle. (It's a bit of a family affair)

Easter Sunday

Started at 5 am! Nathan is seriously out of control. We did not think we had to worry about such early birds for Easter, but he just can't stand the excitement! Needless to say after the Saturday we had, we were not happy about it. But the kids had fun and Nathan said it was the best Easter ever. Each child got something they really really wanted. Easter Bunny kept things simple this year. I got some great photos of the kids which I will post someday. Finally found my cord, in the box of markers in a cabinet, go figure! But as you can see Jack was not into the picture taking.

Super Duper Saturday...

It was one of those days we decided to do EVERYTHING! I'm getting into this bad habit of doing holiday rituals at the very last moment. Decorating cookies, easter egg hunt, coloring eggs. And a trip to the nursery to replace all the dead plants in our yard. Doug and I went to bed exhausted to say the least. But it was a fun and very productive day. Have lost my cord for my camera, will do an all out search today before I go buy another one. Big stink! So will have to post pictures later.
